Mark Toomey is the founder, chief executive and principal consultant for Infonomics.
Mark is recognised as one of Australia’s leading independent advisors in corporate
governance of information and communication technology, with over thirty
years experience in planning and delivering IT solutions that enable
business performance, and eight years of specialist experience in Governance
of IT.
He is deeply involved in development of standards relating to corporate governance of information technology. His roles include:
Member of Standards Australia committee IT-030, which develops Australian Standards for Corporate Governance of Information Technology.
Member of the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 Study Group which managed the fast-track adoption of AS8015 as ISO/IEC 38500.
Member of the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 Workgroup 1A, which will continue the work of the Study Group.
Member of
the ISO/IEC JTC1 Study Group which is developing recommendations for
future control of standards relating to governance and management of
Information Technology.
He is also a Senior Member of the Australian Computer Society, and deputy
chair of its IT Governance Committee.
In this capacity he works with the society to develop individual,
organisational and government awareness and competence in the field of IT
Governance.
Mark
is the author of “The
Director’s IT Compass” – a practical guide to asking questions about IT for
company directors and executives, and has spoken extensively on the topic of
IT Governance, for the Australian Institute of Company Directors and many
management and IT interest groups in Australia and internationally.

Prior to directing his energies to the governance arena, Mark gained extensive experience as:
Director of planning at a pioneering Australian IT firm;
Associate Consulting Director at global consulting firm DMR.
Chief Architect at National Australia Bank
