History
Infonomics Pty Ltd was established in August 1996, as the corporate entity for Mark Toomey, an independent IT and Management consultant.
During the years 1996 to 2000, Infonomics provided services in
enterprise architecture,
strategy development,
major program management
year 2000 remediation and repair
complex project assessment and recovery
improvement in IT delivery performance
commercialisation of technology business units.
From late in 2000 to late in 2002, Infonomics went into hibernation, while its principal worked in an associated business - The Experience Network Pty Ltd, which was rebranded as BCT Governance Pty Ltd in early 2002.
During its time of operation, The Experience Network / BCT Governance provided support and advice to several significant company boards and directors. Its major client was the Board of Medibank Private Limited. This is the Chairman's view of the service provided.
In December 2002, BCT Governance ceased active operations, and Infonomics was revived, resuming operations in the challenging new field of IT Governance. Infonomics has retained the rights to exploit and distribute the intellectual property developed by BCT Governance. See the Services page for further information.

The Infonomics Logo is an evolution of an icon that Mark Toomey first presented to the Oracle OpenWorld Conference in Canberra in 1993.
In that paper, which was acclaimed by Mark's peers at the time as the outstanding paper in Management for the conference, Mark argued that the context in which IT activity occurred was changing, and that in the new era, IT and business would work closely together to achieve new business goals and capabilities.
The arrows in the logo symbolise the new era relationship, where the business would pursue opportunities made possible by technology, and technologists would understand and inform the business of the capabilities the technology offered.
The two phrases that encircle the logo remain as vital today as they did in 1993. The purpose of IT is, without doubt, "Business Enablement" - to render to the business the capabilities that it needs to achieve its purpose and goals. And while doing so, it is equally important that IT meet stringent criteria for "Economic Performance" - delivering IT capability at a cost that is appropriate to the organisation's capacity to spend.
